My Small But Growing Lipstick Favourites...

I Really can't say that I'm the biggest user of lipsticks, and I often gravitate to a bit more of a 'gloss n' go' routine, but this doesn't mean I don't own and have favourites and of course, end up leaving boots without a billion swatches of lipsticks in shades I'm not near brave enough to try swatched up and down both arms...
As you can maybe see from the image about I'm a bit of a high end make-up fiend, I'm so attracted to the whole experience really, the lure of the beautiful  packaging, the counter ladies and their ever so perfect (but sometimes a little overdone) make-up, the multitude of choices, it really is a tailored-to-you shopping experience..A little sad for some, but for me I'd choose the experience of 'High-end' beauty shopping any day!

And in no particular order - My favourites.

Chanel -Rouge Allure - 217 Radieuse

This is one of those 'your lips but better' shades - very sheer giving a slight pink glow to the lips.

Mac - Pink Plaid - Matte

This is a lovely matte pink shade that is very build-able to create a more intense shade if that is the look that you're wanting to achieve. I prefer more of a subtle sweep of colour so with just one application it creates the perfect amount of pink for me!

Mac - Rebel - Satin

This was the outcome of my first ever Mac visit over 4 years ago, and I still love the it! As you can probably tell its a little different in comparison to the other lipsticks I own but this one is such a lovely shade. Again its very build-able and is my go to Winter lipstick.

Mac - Honeylove - Matte

I'm so in love with this shade, and looks so beautiful matched with a cream lipgloss.

Clarins - 121 Rouge Prodige

My favourite red shade. it claims to be a long-lasting lipstick but I don't agree with the statement at all, it comes off like no ones business, I've had it on my teeth, clothes and even my leg!..I mean maybe that's a little harsh it is a great product that is semi-matte and has a lovely vanilla scent to it - I'm a sucker for sweet smelling lipsticks.

What are you favourites? do you have any recommendations for me to try?

Until next time....

Clothing Haul - Pre-easter lent slip - H&M / Forever21

Ok, so here is the outcome of my ill-fated attempt at giving up shopping for lent. A little pre-easter (so-technically-didn't-finish-lent) haul

It needed to be done, I literally have or I can now say Had no restraint when it came to shopping and my bank balance was often the one who suffered..  so when the day of pancakes arrived mid-Feb, I thought I'd challenge myself to give up my favourite past-time shopping..  a few times I nearly dropped the ball as the age old problem arose 'I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR' as I stare into a wardrobe full of clothes, But I pushed past this and I kinda nearly completed Lent - YAAAY. Now, as you can probably tell this haul is going up on Easter Sunday, and Lent ended on Friday ( I think..) so I gave in about a week ago to the lure of online shopping and did buy some goodies. Although I didn't actually complete Lent, I'm pleased with my attempt and my bank balance is a lot happier too.. Now on to the haul.

I'm in LOVE these Forever21 'Refined D'Orsay Flats', I saw some very similar in Zara a few weeks ago, but the prices tag was on a whole-new-level and plus it was lent so when I found these online for the very reasonable price of £18.90 I couldn't resist. They have a lot of similar styles online, so definitely worth a browse if your into this style of shoe.

Now on to H&M, These shorts are just lovely, and again at the very reasonable £14.99 I couldn't resist. This pattern is very different to anything I've seen in a while and since a do always gravitate to the same colours  so this pop of pink defo brings something new. Plus these will look great in the summer months both dressed up and dressed down!

I'm rather susceptible to a nice shirt blouse and I really love the colour of this. It came really creased though as you can probably see so a good iron is in order! £7.99

When I opened this top I really wasn't sure and immediately looked if I could unpick the sleeves. The top looked very different online, which can often happen with when buying online, But after I tried it on my mind was changed and it's actually a really pretty top. :) £14.99

This is from their basics range, a plain black 3/4 sleeve top. Easy to throw on with many outfits..but I think it may be a little see through so maybe a vest underneath will be needed. £9.99

Here is a quick example of how I would combine some of the things I bought into a summer-y look.

I  had to take pictures around these two beauties so thought it would be rude not to pop them in somewhere - They're just too caaauute not to.

See ya soon,

Spring Is Here - OOTD

Finally, Spring is here and Summer is well on it way! WOO!

Although the temperature is definitely on this rise, unfortunately the wind still has a chill to it to remind us summer lovers that it IS only mid-April..So when getting dressed I've gotta bear that in mind.

I was just popping out to meet a friend for lunch and though I'd do a quick OOTD, so here it is my OOTD for Spring weather -

I love a trench with the 'In-between' weather, not too hot and not too cold. One day it will be Burberry but for now this one from Primark will have to do.

I LOVE this Topshop blouse, perfect for both spring and summer and wear-able day and night, which is very appealing to me when buying clothes.  Carrying on with the Topshop theme, these black trousers are also from Topshop, being someone whose trouser collection consists of Black, Black and Black.. I was attracted to the slight pattern on these, they bring something slightly different to the trouser section of my wardrobe.

H&M A/W 13/14 Booties. These are my go to shoes and the moment, I seem to wear them with everything!

I'm  not usually a huge nail polish wear-er but whilst in Boots last week I couldn't resist this Barry M nail polish in Blue Moon. It is perfect for Spring and a such a lovely colour!

That being my first OOTD done! :) I must apologise for the not so great pictures, I bugged my 12 year old Brother to take them and he wasn't best pleased in doing so!

Being Healthy...Ish

Now that I've finished Uni for the summer I have a lot more free time, so other than applying for summer jobs ( I'm in desperate need of a car! ) I thought I'd occupy my time with eating right, and keeping fit...Ok I put my hands up its only been a few days and with multiple chocolate lapses its maaaybe not the strongest start...but I'm gonna stick with it.

Being a big 'ItsJudysLife' Fan, I've been super inspired by Benji and his love of fruit and veg smoothies. I absolutely hate veg and eating them is a massive chore for me so I thought 'Hey i'll give this whole juicing malark a go.' Two smoothies down and so far they're alright, nothing special but maybe that is partly to do with not following any recipe in particular and just throwing things in willy nilly..

My first attempt was a Blueberry, Apple, Banana, and Yogurt combo..tbf this was pretty yummy although the blender broke part way making it so wasn't as smooth as it probably should be..

Today's really wasn't good, went a little overboard with the spinach and the colour was anything but attractive..the Raspberry and Apple helped with the sweetness but jeeze, not again!

After that massive fail...run time with the dogs. 3km done I was pooped, so unfit but I really enjoyed it and I think the dogs did too, they're still fast asleep!

Anyway, I'd love to hear if any of you guys have tried this whole smoothie thing, and know of any yummy recipes?

Clinique 3-Step Anti-Blemish System

Clinique 3-Step Anti-Blemish System

Having Suffered on-and-off with my skin for the last 6/7 years of my life, I was at my wits end. I mean, I don't have the worst skin imaginable but I do suffer constantly with at-least 2 or 3 spots (if I'm lucky), open pores, oily skin and acne scaring which overall has really knocked my confidence, I'm too embarrassed to go out make-up-less, always having to have a full foundation routine slapped on my face. Which with summer fast approaching I really don't want to be doing. The goal is to be able to pop on a bit of tinted moisturiser and mascara and be on my way.

I Have tried exfoliation, all the face washes under the sun and creams from the Doctors. All seemed to work for a while but after a few weeks maybe more, it was as if my skin 'got used' to the products and they became less effective.

Now, after endless google-ing, reading blog reviews and watching YouTube videos I finally decided to take the plunge and head to my nearest Clinique counter for a consultation. Within a couple of questions from the Clinique dermatologist I was matched to the Anti-Blemish system, which I kinda guess i'd be matched to anyway. I was offered a 4-Week Trial for £25 which for some may seem a little pricey but for me and the lack of confidence my skin often gives me it was worth a go.

As the name suggests the system is split into 3 easy steps.

- Step 1 - Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam.
This is the deep cleanse, removing make-up (but from what I've noticed only if not heavy make-up)

- Step 2 - Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion.
Which Unclogs pores that can lead to spots.

-Step 3 - Anti-Blemish Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment Oil-Free.
Fancy Name for a moisturiser really!

I've only been using it a few days now so not really in a position to write my full opinions as of yet, but what i can say is so far so good. The lady did mention that sometimes skin can get worse before it gets better but luckily (so far) that is not something I have come across.
I Have an appointment after my 4-week trial is up early May so no doubt by then I will have a better insight into this product! :)
